1965 Corvair Monza. The little car from Chevrolet that almost made it. The innovative Corvair had a rear mounted air cooled engine . Introduced in 1960, 1965 was its first and only major restyling. Early Corvairs suffered from handling problems (and accidents) related to its independent rear suspension. Although the problem was solved, it was too late to overcome the stigma created by the early model years and it was eventually discontinued.
